Just writing to say that it was a lot of fun working on that Runes project with you! Clearly we make a pretty good team, Professor Babbling hardly ever brings student projects up in front of the class. That rune you found for a smokeless fire was right wizard, and the set for protecting grain in the winter. If it had been up to me, they would all have been about insect repelling. I guess the lice thing from last year really stuck with me!!!

I'm sorry I've not been on the journals much. At all. I can't ever seem to write the right thing, so I mostly stay clear of it. And anything I do want to write about looks boring when I start, so I just don't start at all. You write really well, though, so I think I'll take my cue from you in the future. Karo says that if I write more it'll bury my 'engagement' bit far back enough that people won't read it. I could do with having the world forget about that one, especially Blaise calling me a ti that thing.

Good luck with the rest of exams!!!

Dear Doctor Deller -

My name is Linus Moon, and my studies this year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have brought me repeatedly to your work on the wizarding history of Europe and Great Britain. I have made particular use of Goblin Rebellions 1130-1400, Wizarding Nobility of France and Germany: A History, and your rune compendiums vols. I-XVII. I used your The Evolution of Incantation so often than my parents bought me my own copy last year for my birthday! Having all of that information at hand made me appreciate how much time and investigation must have gone into bringing it together.

I am in the Young Protectors' League, and when I was asked what sort of work I wanted to do in the future, I thought of how rewarding it must be to research and author history books. All of my classes have a historical component, and besides that, I am part of a history club which does readings and reports to supplement our regular history class. Understanding our history is invaluable in informing our approach for the future. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you sometime this summer in order to discuss what a career in history entails.

Thank you for your consideration,
-Linus Moon-
